Palestinian Embroidering:
Empowering Women and Strengthening Communities

Textile designer and educator Claire Anderson needed a bilingual visual identity for her programme celebrating empowerment and craft in Palestinian and Scottish embroidery. Embroidery grid patterns inform the identity, as well as the feel and flow of a roll of fabric or a kelim rug. The identity is in Both Arabic and English using fonts from Lebanese 29LT.

“Malcolm created a multi-layered contemporary visual identity, which spoke to diverse and international audiences while being respectful of the heritage and traditions underpinning the project. The bilingual website (Arabic and English) was incredibly successful enabling partners in the West Bank to engage remotely. I couldn’t have been happier with this work, it was beautiful and functional. I look forward to working with Malcolm and Graham again.”
